Job Description:
The Area Sales Manager – Business Development will be responsible for driving sales growth across the assigned territory by developing new business opportunities, managing key accounts, expanding channel partner networks, and leading the regional sales team. The role requires strategic planning, team leadership, and execution of sales initiatives to achieve revenue and profitability objectives within the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) solar segment.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Territory Management
Develop and execute territory-wise sales strategies.
Identify high-potential markets and customer segments.
Achieve assigned revenue, collection, and profitability targets.
Monitor competitor activities and market trends.
Business Development
Generate high-value business opportunities through direct sales, channel partners, consultants, EPCs, and industrial associations.
Build strong relationships with key decision-makers and corporate clients.
Develop strategic partnerships to expand market presence.
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and motivate the regional sales team.
Set individual sales targets and monitor performance.
Conduct regular sales reviews and training sessions.
Support recruitment and onboarding of sales professionals.
Client Relationship Management
Manage key customer accounts and ensure customer satisfaction.
Negotiate commercial terms and finalize contracts.
Maintain long-term relationships with corporate clients and channel partners.
Project Coordination
Coordinate with engineering, design, procurement, and project execution teams.
Ensure seamless transition from sales to project implementation.
Monitor project status and resolve customer escalations.
Sales Planning & Reporting
Prepare territory forecasts and annual business plans.
Maintain CRM records and sales pipeline.
Submit periodic MIS reports to senior management.
Analyze sales performance and recommend corrective actions.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline.
MBA (Marketing) will be an added advantage.
Experience
5–8 years of experience in Solar EPC Sales, Industrial Sales, or Renewable Energy Business Development.
Experience handling C&I Solar Projects and Team Management is mandatory.
Technical Knowledge
Strong understanding of Solar Rooftop EPC Business.
Knowledge of Industrial Energy Requirements.
Understanding of Government Policies, Net Metering, Open Access, and Renewable Energy Regulations.
