Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to support our laboratory operations from an offshore location in Hyderabad, India. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring turnaround time (TAT) of laboratory reports, analyzing laboratory data, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of diagnostic results.
The role requires experience in Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology testing, along with familiarity with Abbott diagnostic instruments and Roche platforms such as COBAS analyzers. The technician will also monitor laboratory workflows, review instrument-generated results, and ensure reports are delivered within the required timelines while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and track Turnaround Time (TAT) for laboratory test results to ensure timely report delivery.
- Review, analyze, and validate instrument-generated laboratory results before reporting.
- Prepare and manage accurate laboratory reports using the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
- Perform data analysis and review of Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology test results.
- Conduct post-run sample analysis and interpret mass spectrometry data for toxicology testing.
- Support monitoring of laboratory instruments including Abbott diagnostic analyzers and Roche COBAS systems (e.g., COBAS 6000, COBAS 8000).
- Operate and support LC-MS/MS platforms including Shimadzu LCMS-8050 or LCMS-8040 systems where applicable.
- Identify delays, abnormal results, or workflow issues and escalate to senior technologists or pathologists when required.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards, reporting protocols, and documentation requirements.
- Assist in monitoring quality control (QC) data and laboratory performance metrics.
- Collaborate with laboratory teams to ensure efficient workflow and timely reporting of results.
- Maintain strict adherence to laboratory safety, data integrity, and confidentiality standards.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or related life sciences field.
- 5+ years of experience in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory environment.
- Mandatory experience in Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology testing.
- Direct experience in toxicology laboratory workflows and analysis.
- Experience working with Abbott diagnostic instruments.
- Familiarity with Roche diagnostic instruments, particularly COBAS analyzers, is preferred.
- Experience operating Shimadzu LCMS-8050 or LCMS-8040 systems is preferred.
- Strong proficiency with LabSolutions software for mass spectrometry data acquisition and analysis.
- Experience in laboratory data analysis, report validation, and TAT monitoring.
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and digital reporting tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting remote or offshore laboratory operations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to monitor laboratory performance metrics such as TAT and reporting accuracy.
- Experience interpreting mass spectrometry data in toxicology applications.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with global laboratory teams.
