Job Summary
We are looking for competent, highly skilled, responsible, and patient-focused Nursing Staff (Male/Female) to provide safe and quality nursing care to patients. The selected candidate should have sound clinical knowledge, good communication skills, and the ability to independently manage emergency situations, prioritize multiple patients, and handle two or more critical clinical tasks simultaneously while maintaining patient safety.
The candidate must be capable of working effectively in OPD, IPD, ICU, Emergency, OT, and other clinical areas, as per hospital requirements.
1. Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients.
- Assess patients and promptly identify changes in their clinical condition.
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, pain score, and other clinical parameters.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, injections, and treatments as prescribed by the doctor.
- Maintain accurate and complete nursing documentation and patient records.
- Assist doctors during procedures, examinations, emergency care, and resuscitation.
- Handle emergency and critical situations calmly and efficiently.
- Prioritize patient care according to clinical urgency and hospital protocols.
- Be capable of managing multiple patients and two or more clinical responsibilities simultaneously without compromising patient safety.
- Respond promptly to Code Blue / cardiac arrest / medical emergencies and participate in CPR and resuscitation.
- Operate and monitor commonly used medical equipment as per training and authorization.
- Maintain infection prevention and control practices, including hand hygiene and appropriate PPE use.
- Follow medication safety, patient identification, fall prevention, and other patient-safety protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Ensure proper handover and takeover during shift changes.
- Coordinate effectively with doctors, nursing colleagues, technicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and attendants regarding medications, procedures, treatment, discharge instructions, and basic health care.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and availability of nursing equipment and supplies.
- Report adverse events, medication errors, patient deterioration, and other incidents immediately through the appropriate channel.
- Follow hospital policies, SOPs, nursing protocols, and NABH requirements.
- Participate in training, competency assessments, drills, audits, and quality-improvement activities.
2. Required Knowledge
The candidate should have sound knowledge of:
- Basic and advanced nursing procedures.
- Patient assessment and clinical monitoring.
- Medication administration and medication safety.
- IV cannulation, IV therapy, injections, and fluid management.
- Basic life support (BLS) and emergency response.
- CPR and resuscitation procedures.
- Infection prevention and control.
- Biomedical waste management.

- Documentation and nursing records.
- Emergency triage and prioritization of patients.
- Use and basic troubleshooting of clinical equipment.
- Safe handling and transfer of patients.

- Respond to multiple emergency requirements while maintaining patient safety.
- Escalate critical conditions immediately to the concerned doctor/senior nurse.
Multitasking & Prioritization
- Ability to manage multiple patients simultaneously.
- Ability to perform two or more urgent clinical tasks at the same time when required, while appropriately prioritizing patient safety.
- Ability to work efficiently during high patient-load situations.
- Ability to organize and complete assigned responsibilities within the shift.
- Ability to delegate appropriate tasks according to competence and hospital policy.
Communication Skills
- Good verbal and written communication.
- Professional communication with patients and attendants.
- Effective communication with doctors and multidisciplinary teams.
- Proper shift handover and escalation of clinical concerns.
4. Qualification
Essential:
- B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing / GNM from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the applicable State Nursing Council / Nursing Registration Authority.
Desirable:
- BLS/CPR certification.
- ACLS certification for positions requiring critical/emergency care.
- Relevant clinical experience in ICU, Emergency, OT, IPD, or other specialized areas.
5. Experience
Freshers may be considered based on hospital requirements and competency assessment.
Experienced candidates: Preference may be given to candidates with relevant experience in:
- ICU
- Emergency / Casualty
- Critical Care
- Medical-Surgical Ward
- OT
- HDU
- NICU/PICU, where applicable
- Other specialized clinical departments
