Business Analyst – Investment Management Transformation & Innovation
Location: Chennai
Experience: 3-7 Years Role
Overview:
We are seeking high-performing professionals with a strong Investment Management, Asset Management, Wealth Management, or Capital Markets background to join a strategic transformation and innovation team. The role will focus on identifying and shaping opportunities to transform investment operations through AI, automation, emerging technologies, and operating model innovation.
The ideal candidate will combine domain expertise with strong analytical, problem-solving, research, and stakeholder management capabilities to help drive strategic initiatives and deliver business value.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse investment management operating models and identify opportunities for transformation, automation, and operational efficiency.
Evaluate business processes across front, middle, and back-office functions and recommend future-state operating models.
Conduct industry research on market trends, emerging technologies, AI, digital assets, and evolving investment management practices.
Translate business challenges into high-value transformation initiatives and actionable business cases. Partner with business, operations, and technology stakeholders to assess, prioritize, and support strategic initiatives.
Support innovation programs, proof-of-concepts, and strategic assessments from ideation through implementation.
Track industry developments, competitive trends, and best practices to inform business and transformation strategies.
Required Experience ·
- 3-7 years of experience in Asset Management, Investment Management, Wealth Management, Capital Markets, Asset Servicing, Financial Services Consulting, or related transformation and strategy roles.
- Full-time MBA/PGDM from a premier institution, preferably an IIM.
- Strong understanding of one or more of the following:
- Investment Operations
- Fund Accounting
- Asset Servicing
- Trade Lifecycle Management
- Performance & Attribution
- Investment Reporting
- Portfolio Operations
- Experience in business analysis, strategic initiatives, process improvement, transformation, consulting, or innovation programs.
- Strong analytical, research, problem-solving, and structured thinking capabilities. ·
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills. ·
- Ability to work effectively with senior business and technology stakeholders in a fast-paced, transformation-driven environment. ·
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize industry trends, business challenges, and emerging technologies into actionable recommendations.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on strategic initiatives involving AI, innovation, operating model transformation, or future-of-work programs. ·
- Understanding of emerging trends across Investment Management, including data-driven operations, digital assets, tokenization, and next-generation service models.
- Ability to combine domain expertise, industry research, and structured problem-solving to identify and shape high-value business opportunities.
- Proven track record of influencing decisions through insights, analysis, and executive-level presentations.
