Pradhan Industries is looking for an extremely capable, responsible and result-oriented Project Head – Project Development & Plant Expansion to lead and manage all ongoing and upcoming project development and plant expansion works at its LPR, BMD and BNB units.
This is a senior leadership and execution role. The candidate must be technically strong, field-oriented, disciplined and capable of taking complete ownership of assigned projects from planning stage to final commissioning and handover.
The selected candidate shall directly report to the Management and shall take instructions directly from the Management. He must be capable of independently following up, executing, monitoring, correcting and completing the work in the best interest of the company.
Key Requirement
The candidate must not be a person who only reports problems. He must be capable of identifying problems, finding practical solutions, coordinating with the right persons and ensuring that the work gets completed.
The company is looking for a person who can take responsibility, ownership and accountability for project development and plant expansion work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all project development and plant expansion activities of the company at LPR, BMD and BNB.
- Take complete ownership of assigned projects and ensure that the work is completed within the approved timeline, quality requirement and Management direction.
- Prepare and monitor the complete project execution plan covering layout, design, machinery, civil work, fabrication, erection, installation, procurement, supply, trial run and commissioning.
- Coordinate directly with Management for project priorities, approvals, technical decisions, budget-related matters, vendor finalisation and execution planning.
- Coordinate with consultants for plant layout, machine layout, process flow, civil drawings, foundation drawings, structural drawings, electrical layout, utility planning and complete project design.
- Follow up regularly with consultants for timely submission, correction, revision, finalisation and implementation of drawings, layouts, designs and technical documents.
- Review the technical suitability of layouts, machinery, foundations, structures, equipment placement, material movement, workflow and future expansion requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors for quotations, technical discussions, machinery specifications, technical comparison, commercial comparison support, delivery schedule, inspection, despatch and installation support.
- Follow up for procurement, manufacturing, supply, inspection, transport, delivery and installation of machines, equipment, structures, tools, tackles, spares and project materials.
- Verify all machines, equipment and project materials received at site against purchase orders, drawings, specifications, quantity, quality and approved requirements.
- Coordinate with mechanical, civil, electrical, fabrication, stores, purchase, production, process and site teams for smooth and timely project execution.
- Supervise civil foundation work, machine foundation work, shed work, structural work, fabrication work, platform work, pipeline work, ducting work, conveyor work and other project-related site activities.
- Supervise mechanical erection, installation, alignment, levelling, fitting, grouting, anchoring, trial run and commissioning of plant machinery and equipment.
- Ensure proper installation and coordination of crushers, conveyors, ball mills, agitators, flotation cells, filters, dryers, pulverisers, pumps, motors, gearboxes, hoppers, chutes, pipelines and related industrial equipment.
- Monitor daily progress of site incharges, contractors, consultants, vendors, fabricators, civil teams, erection teams and internal departments.
- Ensure that no project work remains pending due to lack of follow-up, poor coordination, material shortage, drawing delay, vendor delay or site-level negligence.
- Identify delays, bottlenecks, technical issues, manpower shortage, material shortage, contractor delay and coordination gaps, and immediately take corrective action after informing Management.
- Ensure that all project works are carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety norms and Management instructions.
- Maintain strict control over project cost, material utilisation, manpower deployment, contractor progress, wastage, rework and unnecessary delay.
- Verify contractor work progress, site measurements, work completion status and supporting records before recommending the same for review.
- Ensure proper coordination between ongoing plant operations and project execution so that production activities are not unnecessarily disturbed.
- Ensure safety during welding, cutting, grinding, lifting, shifting, height work, electrical work, machine erection and heavy equipment handling.
- Maintain proper project documentation including drawings, layouts, vendor documents, consultant reports, inspection reports, delivery records, installation records, progress reports, delay reports, trial run reports and commissioning records.
- Conduct regular site visits and review meetings with site incharges, contractors, consultants, vendors and concerned departments.
- Submit daily, weekly and monthly project progress reports to Management with clear details of work completed, work pending, delay reasons, responsibility, material status, manpower status, consultant status, vendor status and next action plan.
- Support Management in technical decision-making related to plant expansion, machinery selection, process improvement, capacity enhancement, layout correction and project development.
- Ensure timely completion, trial run, commissioning and proper handover of all assigned project works.
- Protect the interest of the company at all stages of project development, procurement, execution, verification, installation and commissioning.
- Ensure that the company does not suffer due to wrong planning, poor follow-up, weak supervision, vendor delay, contractor negligence or lack of technical checking.
- Take full responsibility for project execution and ensure that the work is not left incomplete, unattended, delayed or dependent only on instructions from others.
Candidate Profile
The candidate should have:
- Minimum 15-20 years of experience in industrial project execution, plant expansion, mechanical erection, machinery installation or heavy industrial project development work.
- Mechanical background is strongly preferred. Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification will be preferred.
- Experience in mineral processing plants, graphite plants, beneficiation plants, mining industries, crusher plants, cement plants, steel plants, sponge iron plants, power plants, chemical plants or similar heavy industries will be preferred.
- Strong practical knowledge of machinery selection, plant layout, machine layout, fabrication, civil foundation work, structural work, erection, installation, trial run and commissioning.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, civil drawings, foundation drawings, fabrication drawings, layout drawings and technical documents.
- Strong experience in handling consultants, vendors, contractors, fabricators, erection teams, civil teams and multi-department coordination.
- Ability to independently plan, follow up, monitor, correct and complete multiple project works at different locations.
- Strong leadership, discipline, technical judgment, site execution ability, reporting ability and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work at remote industrial sites and handle site-level challenges practically.
- Must be sincere, responsible, field-oriented, result-oriented and capable of taking complete ownership of assigned work.
- Must be proactive and should not wait for repeated reminders for follow-up, reporting, correction or execution.
- Must be capable of taking decisions within the authority given by Management and escalating important matters in a timely manner.
- Must be able to work under pressure and complete work within defined timelines.
- Must have strong commitment towards quality, safety, timely completion and company interest.
- Candidates having experience in graphite, mining, mineral beneficiation or similar process industries will be given preference.

Reporting
The selected candidate shall directly report to the Management and shall take instructions directly from the Management. He shall be responsible for regular reporting, follow-up, review, escalation and successful execution of all project development and plant expansion works.
Nature of Work
This is a senior project execution and ownership-based role. The candidate shall be responsible for overall planning, coordination, execution, monitoring, correction, completion, trial run, commissioning and handover of plant development and expansion works.
This role is suitable only for candidates who can take responsibility and deliver results at site.
Salary
Salary shall be negotiable based on experience, technical knowledge, industrial exposure, leadership ability and capability to independently handle project development and plant expansion works.
