JOB DESCRIPTION-
A Project Management Consultant (PMC) is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and overseeing hospital construction projects from design through completion. The role ensures that projects are delivered within the approved scope, budget, timeline, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Comprehensive Planning & Design Coordination
- Coordinate with architects, structural, MEP, medical planning, and other consultants.
- Review project requirements, clinical workflows, space planning, and future expansion needs.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable healthcare standards, building codes, and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate integration of medical equipment, IT systems, and other hospital technologies.
2. Cost Management & Budgeting
- Prepare and review project cost estimates and budgets.
- Monitor construction, equipment, and consultancy costs throughout the project.
- Identify cost optimization opportunities without compromising quality or functionality.
- Track variations, additional works, and potential budget overruns.
3. Project Risk Management
- Identify potential risks related to design, approvals, construction, procurement, and timelines.
- Develop mitigation and contingency plans.
- Monitor project progress and take corrective actions to minimize delays and disruptions.
4. Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as a coordination point between the client, consultants, contractors, vendors, and statutory authorities.
- Conduct regular project review and progress meetings.
- Maintain effective communication and documentation among all stakeholders.
- Assist in resolving technical, contractual, and coordination issues.
5. Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance
- Monitor construction quality, materials, workmanship, and execution standards.
- Ensure HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, medical gases, and other hospital systems meet required standards.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and documentation.
- Support compliance and readiness for applicable hospital certifications and accreditations.
6. Project Scheduling & Timely Delivery
- Develop and monitor detailed project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
- Track contractor and consultant performance against agreed timelines.
- Coordinate procurement and site activities to avoid delays and bottlenecks.
- Provide regular progress reports and recommend corrective measures.
7. Sustainability & Innovation
- Promote energy-efficient and sustainable construction practices.
- Encourage efficient use of resources, natural lighting, ventilation, and modern building technologies.
- Support implementation of smart hospital infrastructure and innovative solutions.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in hospital construction / commissioning projects
- Civil Engineer. B. civil,
- 8-9 years of experience
- Knowledge of NABH / healthcare compliance standards
- Experience handling multi-location healthcare projects
