Job Summary
The Senior Data Analyst will play a critical role in transforming complex data into actionable insights for LPL Financial Corp. This individual will be responsible for advanced data analysis, reporting, and dashboard creation to support strategic business decisions across various departments.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead complex data analysis projects from inception to completion, identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies to inform business strategies.
- Develop, maintain, and automate robust reports and interactive dashboards using tools like AWS Quicksight, Power BI, or similar, to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide business insights.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders across departments to understand data requirements, define metrics, and deliver impactful analytical solutions.
- Design and execute SQL queries to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various relational databases and data warehouses for analysis.
- Perform data validation, data reconciliation and quality assurance to ensure accuracy and integrity of data used in reporting and analysis.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and data optimization, recommending and implementing solutions.
- Mentor junior data analysts, providing guidance on best practices in data analysis, visualization, and reporting.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices in data analytics, data visualization, and relevant technologies.
- Communicate complex analytical findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences through presentations and written reports.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline. Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in a data analysis role, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Strong experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView) for creating compelling dashboards and reports.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and advanced analytical techniques. Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, Python with Pandas/NumPy) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- Experience with large datasets and data warehousing concepts.
- Familiarity with financial products, services, and regulatory requirements is highly desirable.
