About the job
Accendra Health is looking to fill the role of L3 Citrix Engineer. Day-to-day activities include managing and maintaining Citrix environment documentation and KBs, maintaining high operational uptime and stringent SLAs, coordinating with applications and development teams as well as other operational and project-based tasks, mentoring of teammates and developing KPIs and operational standards. This is a high-level position so please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications listed below.
Position Overview:
As a Citrix Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing our corporate Citrix infrastructure, consisting of 2 separate lines of business environments with around 5,000 users. You will be responsible for end user support, annual project tasks, working with our L2/L3 teams to solve problems that impact our users, and keeping our Citrix environments running in optimal condition at all times.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to work autonomously, manage priorities and able to be assertive when necessary to get things done. You will engage with other IT teams to support projects, day-to-day support and escalations, ensuring root cause is determined, resolved and documented.
Key Responsibilities:

Efficiently troubleshoot complex issues
-
Advanced level troubleshooting of Windows Server and Desktop OS

Managing internal web and SaaS applications running within Citrix
-
Monitor all components of Citrix infrastructure to maintain performance and reliability, work with the team to continually enhance and optimize the environment

Managing infrastructure servers and VDAs hosted on VMware ESXi with vSphere
-
Understanding and experience with HA and DR solutions, both on-prem and cloud
-
Manage and maintaining all patching and update activities, ensuring images are always up-to-date and optimized
-
Partnering with business stakeholders to keep a clear line of communication on happenings and changes that may impact users.

Automating tasks with Powershell scripts and other automation tools

Ensuring high availability in the environment at all times

Vendor Management
-
License management for both Citrix and Microsoft RDS

Mentor junior team members
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for Citrix environment
Qualifications:
-
Overall 7+ years of experience managing Citrix VDI and published apps environments (On-prem, Cloud, Hybrid)
-
5+ years working as a Citrix Engineer in a large enterprise environment with more than 4,000 users
-
At least 5 years of experience with Citrix Cloud platform

At least 5 years of experience with both Citrix PVS and MCS
-
At least 3 years of experience working with and troubleshooting Citrix FAS
-
At least 3 years of experience managing images with App Layering Manager (ELM)
-
Strong understanding and experience with both published applications and VDI in multiple AD domains
-
Experience with Windows PowerShell for troubleshooting, configuration and automation
-
Experience with Citrix Gateway Service and managing Adaptive Authentication a plus!

In depth knowledge of Citrix Profile Management, FSLogix
-
Strong troubleshooting skills with the Citrix infrastructure and its dependencies (network, storage, etc.)

Experience developing effective, proactive monitoring and alerting to assure system uptime
-
Experience managing Citrix in DR configurations
-
Understanding of web applications and troubleshooting
-
Understanding of networking topology and protocols
-
Experience with data center hosting environments and connectivity
-
Clear and concise communications both written and verbal are critical in this role

University degree in computer science or technical field preferred.

Experience supporting in the healthcare industry is a plus
-
