Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated, student-focused, and dynamic Academic Counsellor to join our Preschool team. The Academic Counsellor will guide prospective and existing parents, support student admissions, provide academic counselling, and act as a bridge between parents, teachers, and the preschool administration. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and a passion for helping students achieve their educational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Counsel prospective parents and students regarding the preschool's curriculum, teaching methodology, and admission process.
- Conduct school tours and provide detailed information about academic programs and facilities.
- Handle admission enquiries through walk-ins, phone calls, emails, and online platforms.
- Follow up with prospective parents to ensure successful admissions.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and address their academic-related concerns.
- Coordinate with the academic and administrative teams to ensure smooth admission and onboarding processes.
- Maintain accurate records of enquiries, admissions, and student information.
- Assist in organizing school events, orientation programmes, open houses, and parent engagement activities.
- Support student retention by addressing academic concerns and facilitating appropriate interventions.
- Prepare admission reports and maintain counselling records.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business Administration, or any related field.
- Master's degree is an added advantage.
- 2–5 years of experience in academic counselling, admissions, customer relations, or school administration.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong counselling and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build trust with parents and students.
- Good presentation and public speaking skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and school ERP/CRM software is preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
