A Commis is a junior culinary role bridging the gap between an entry-level trainee and a more experienced station chef. You are responsible for executing basic food prep, managing daily mise-en-place, and keeping the workstation clean while learning from senior chefs.
Core Responsibilities
- Food Preparation & Cooking: Assist senior chefs with prepping basic ingredients (washing, peeling, chopping) and follow standard recipes to execute cooking tasks.
- Mise-en-Place: Prepare your assigned station before service so the team runs smoothly.
- Stock & Inventory: Help receive food deliveries, practice proper First-In, First-Out (FIFO) stock rotation, and alert supervisors to low inventory.
- Hygiene & Sanitation: Maintain strict cleanliness, perform daily temperature checks, label and date all food items, and adhere to HACCP and safety protocols.
- Team Support: Work closely with Commis and Chef de Partie to cover breaks and support the wider kitchen during peak hours.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
