JOB DESCRIPTION:
To carry out mechanical fitting, maintenance, and repair of pumps and associated rotating and static equipment in the continuous sulphonation plant, ensuring their reliable and safe operation.
Key Responsibilities
Pump Maintenance
* Carry out installation, alignment, overhauling, and repair of centrifugal, gear, dosing, and screw pumps used in LABSA, SLES, AOS, acid, and utility service.
* Attend pump breakdowns – replace mechanical seals, gland packing, bearings, couplings, and impellers.
* Perform pump-to-motor alignment (coupling / laser alignment) and check for vibration, leakage, and abnormal noise.
General Mechanical Maintenance
* Assist in maintenance of blowers, agitators, heat exchangers, valves, piping, and utility equipment.
* Carry out fitting jobs – piping, flanges, gaskets, and fabrication support.
* Support preventive maintenance activities as per schedule.
Execution & Safety
* Work as per the work permit, LOTO, and safety procedures, especially in acid / SO₃ areas.
* Use the correct tools, tackles, and lifting equipment safely.
* Maintain cleanliness and 5S at the work site.
Documentation
* Record maintenance jobs, spares used, and pump history.
* Report abnormalities to the shift engineer.
Qualification & Experience
* Education: ITI (Fitter) / Diploma in Mechanical.
* Experience: 3–7 years as a mechanical fitter in a chemical / process plant, with hands-on experience in pump maintenance.
* Certifications (preferred):
* ITI Fitter trade certificate and safety training.
Skills Required
* Strong hands-on expertise in pump maintenance and mechanical seals.
* Ability to read mechanical drawings and use measuring and alignment instruments.
* Knowledge of rotating-equipment maintenance practices.
* Safety awareness for a hazardous chemical plant.
* Reliable team player with good discipline.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
