Department: Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery (CTVS)
Designation: Senior Staff Nurse/ Staff Nurse
Reports To: Nurse Manager / Nursing Superintendent
Qualification: GNM / B.Sc Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc Nursing with valid Nursing Council registration. ACLS/BLS certification preferred.
Experience: Typically 1–3+ years in CTVS ICU, Cardiac ICU, CCU, or Cardiac OT.

Job Summary
The CTVS Senior Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries. The role includes pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient management, supervision of nursing staff, clinical decision-making, emergency response, and ensuring adherence to quality and infection-control standards.
Key Responsibilities1. Patient Care
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments.
- Monitor ECG, vital signs, invasive lines, chest drains, ventilator parameters, and hemodynamic status.
- Administer medications, including inotropes, vasopressors, anticoagulants, sedatives, and analgesics.
- Manage post-operative cardiac surgery patients and identify complications early.
2. CTVS ICU / Critical Care Management
- Care for ventilated and critically ill cardiac patients.
- Assist in intubation, extubation, suctioning, and ventilator weaning.
- Monitor and manage central venous lines, arterial lines, pacing wires, and other invasive devices.
- Participate in CPR and advanced cardiac life support during emergencies.
3. Operating Theatre Support
- Assist surgeons during CABG, valve replacement, thoracic, and vascular procedures.
- Maintain sterile technique and infection-control practices.
- Ensure availability and accountability of instruments, consumables, and equipment.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, and perfusionists during surgery.
4. Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and guide junior nurses and nursing assistants.
- Allocate duties and ensure adequate staffing.
- Conduct shift handovers and monitor nursing documentation.
- Support orientation and training of new staff.
5. Documentation & Quality Assurance
- Maintain accurate nursing records and care plans.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, NABH standards, and patient safety guidelines.
- Report incidents, adverse drug reactions, and clinical concerns promptly.
6. Patient & Family Education
- Educate patients and families regarding surgery, medications, wound care, rehabilitation, and discharge instructions.
- Provide emotional support and counseling during recovery.

Pay: ₹12,959.74 - ₹31,960.81 per month
