Senior Ductable AC Technician diagnoses, installs, and repairs commercial and central cooling systems (ductable units, VRVs, AHUs). Responsibilities include troubleshooting complex electrical/mechanical faults, performing gas charging and brazing, and leading junior technicians on-site while ensuring compliance with safety and service standards.

Core Responsibilities1. Installation & Commissioning
- Install ductable split systems, Air Handling Units (AHUs), and ventilation networks according to HVAC blueprints and safety codes.
- Commission new systems, calibrate thermostats, and test airflow and static pressure.
2. Troubleshooting & Repairs
- Independently diagnose and rectify complex mechanical and electrical faults (e.g., compressor failures, PCB issues, sensor errors, and refrigerant leaks).
- Perform critical repairs like vacuuming, brazing, and gas charging.
- Read and interpret complicated technical wiring diagrams and P&ID/HVAC layouts.
3. Preventive Maintenance (AMC)
- Execute Planned/Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) for commercial ductable systems.
- Perform routine checks, including coil cleaning, filter replacement, insulation integrity checks, and electrical contact tightening.
4. Leadership & Site Management
- Supervise, train, and guide junior technicians and helpers during on-site installations and major breakdowns.
- Coordinate with clients, site engineers, and project managers to ensure work is completed on time and meets service level agreements (SLAs).
5. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate service logs, daily work reports, and breakdown analysis documentation.
- Ensure strict adherence to Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) guidelines at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 5–10 years of hands-on field experience specifically with central air conditioning, ductable units, and VRV/VRF systems.
- Education: ITI, Diploma, or Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) or HVAC Engineering.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of psychrometrics, refrigeration cycles, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, physical stamina, and strong communication skills for client-facing updates.
- Additional Requirements: A valid driver's license and two-wheeler are often required for localized field service.
