Role Summary
Support the Canteen Manager in ensuring smooth and efficient operation of the school dining facility, providing nutritious, hygienic, and timely meals to students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the school canteen and dining hall.
- Coordinate meal preparation and service as per approved menus and schedules.
- Ensure food quality, hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards are maintained at all times.
- Monitor food stock, inventory, and consumption records.
- Assist in procurement planning and coordination with vendors and suppliers.
- Supervise kitchen, serving, and housekeeping staff within the dining facility.
- Address student and staff feedback regarding food and dining services.
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI and other applicable regulations.
- Maintain records related to attendance, inventory, wastage, and inspections.
- Support special events, celebrations, and guest dining arrangements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Food Service Management, or any related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in school canteen/mess, catering, hospitality, institutional kitchen, or dining operations.
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and inventory management.
- Strong organizational and people-management skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office).
Preferred Experience
- Experience in schools, colleges, hostels, hospitals, or large-scale catering operations.
- Familiarity with managing meals for 350+ individuals daily.
