Position Overview
We are seeking a creative, result-oriented, and strategic Marketing Strategist to support the growth and development of our Merchandise Department. The role involves conceptualizing innovative marketing initiatives, providing strategic recommendations, assisting in the implementation of approved ideas, and enhancing the overall visibility and sales performance of merchandise across our website and physical stores.
The candidate may work remotely but must be willing to travel to stores, events, and other locations as required to plan, execute, monitor, and review merchandising and marketing activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy & Planning
- Develop and recommend marketing strategies to increase merchandise sales and customer engagement.
- Identify opportunities for growth and expansion of the merchandise business.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, customer preferences, and best practices.
- Suggest innovative promotional campaigns, seasonal initiatives, and product positioning strategies.
Merchandising & Store Display
- Provide recommendations on product placement, visual merchandising, and store displays to maximize sales.
- Suggest improvements to in-store branding, signage, and customer experience.
- Conduct periodic reviews of merchandise displays and recommend corrective actions where required.
- Ensure consistency in merchandise presentation across all locations.
Sales Growth & Business Development
- Assist in developing plans to increase revenue from merchandise sales.
- Identify new product categories, partnerships, and sales channels.
- Recommend pricing, promotional, and bundling strategies to improve sales performance.
- Support the launch of new merchandise products and collections.
Online Merchandise Sales & Digital Marketing
- Develop and recommend strategies to increase online merchandise sales through various digital channels.
- Assist in creating and implementing marketing campaigns for e-commerce platforms, websites, social media, and online marketplaces.
- Suggest improvements to product listings, product descriptions, pricing, promotions, and customer engagement strategies to enhance online conversions.
- Work closely with relevant teams to improve the online shopping experience and increase customer retention.
- Identify opportunities to expand the online reach of merchandise through digital marketing, partnerships, and promotional campaigns.
- Monitor online sales performance, customer behavior, and market trends, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Support the launch and promotion of new merchandise products across online platforms.
- Recommend content, branding, and visual presentation strategies to strengthen the online presence of the merchandise department.
Implementation & Coordination
- Work closely with management and relevant teams to implement approved marketing and merchandising initiatives.
- Monitor the effectiveness of campaigns and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Coordinate with vendors, designers, suppliers, and other stakeholders when required.
- Visit stores and operational locations as needed to assess implementation and provide guidance.
Reporting & Analysis
- Track key performance indicators related to merchandise sales and marketing initiatives.
- Prepare periodic reports, presentations, and recommendations for management.
- Analyze sales data and customer feedback to refine marketing strategies.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Retail Management, Communications, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in marketing, merchandising, retail strategy, business development, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of retail sales, consumer behavior, and visual merchandising principles.
- Experience in developing and executing marketing campaigns.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
