Job Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining woodworking machinery used in furniture manufacturing. The role involves ensuring quality production, following safety procedures, minimizing material wastage, and achieving daily production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate woodworking machines such as Panel Saw, Edge Banding Machine, CNC Router, Multi Boring Machine, Beam Saw, Sliding Table Saw, Thickness Planer, Surface Planer, Wide Belt Sander, and other production equipment as assigned.
- Set up machines according to production drawings and specifications.
- Ensure correct machine settings before starting production.
- Produce components within specified quality standards and tolerances.
Production
- Complete daily production targets as assigned.
- Follow production schedules and work orders.
- Minimize raw material wastage during production.
- Report production delays or machine issues immediately.
Quality Control
- Inspect finished components for dimensions, finish, and defects.
- Ensure products meet company quality standards.
- Separate defective materials and report quality issues to the supervisor.
Machine Maintenance
- Perform daily cleaning and basic preventive maintenance of machines.
- Check lubrication, blades, cutters, and machine condition before operation.
- Report any breakdown or unusual machine performance immediately.
- Assist the maintenance team during repairs when required.
Safety & Housekeeping
- Follow all factory safety rules and SOPs.
- Wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness around the machine and work area using 5S practices.
- Ensure safe handling of tools, materials, and equipment.
Documentation
- Record production output as required.
- Report machine downtime and material wastage.
- Maintain production and quality records accurately.
Teamwork
- Coordinate with supervisors, helpers, quality inspectors, and maintenance staff.
- Support other production activities whenever required.
- Train new helpers on safe machine handling when instructed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10th Pass / ITI preferred.
- Certificate in Machine Operation or Woodworking is an added advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience operating woodworking machinery in a furniture manufacturing factory.
- Experience with modular furniture production is preferred.
Required Skills
- Ability to read production drawings and cutting lists.
- Knowledge of woodworking machines and their operation.
- Basic measuring skills using tape, vernier, and measuring tools.
- Understanding of machine safety procedures.
- Ability to troubleshoot minor machine issues.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work under production deadlines.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and handle wooden panels and components safely.
- Willingness to work overtime and shifts when required.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
