Job Overview
The Assistant Professor in Pharmaceutics will be responsible for teaching, conducting research, and engaging in service activities in the area of pharmaceutics, a sub-discipline of pharmaceutical sciences. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the educational experiences of students while advancing the scientific knowledge of pharmaceutical formulations, drug delivery systems, and related areas through high-quality research.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Instruction
- Course Delivery: Teach undergraduate, graduate, and professional courses in pharmaceutics, including but not limited to drug formulation, drug delivery systems, biopharmaceutics, pharmaceutical technology, and pharmacokinetics.
- Curriculum Development: Develop and update course materials, lectures, lab exercises, and assignments. Ensure that the curriculum is in alignment with current industry standards and advances in the field.
- Student Mentoring: Provide academic advisement to students and supervise graduate research projects and theses in pharmaceutics.
- Assessment: Develop and administer exams, assignments, and projects, and grade student work in a timely manner. Provide constructive feedback to support student development.
Research
- Research Leadership: Establish and maintain an active research program in pharmaceutics, focusing on areas such as drug formulation, nanotechnology, controlled drug delivery, bioavailability, or other relevant topics in pharmaceutics.
- Funding Acquisition: Apply for external research funding through grants and collaborations. Support the department in achieving its research goals.
- Publications: Publish research findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals and present at academic conferences. Encourage and guide students in research-related publications.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other academic departments, industry partners, and research organizations on projects that advance pharmaceutical sciences.
Service
- Committee Participation: Participate in departmental, college, and university committees as needed, contributing to the development of academic policies and departmental activities.
- Professional Development: Keep abreast of the latest developments in pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical sciences by attending conferences, workshops, and engaging in professional organizations.
- Community Engagement: Engage in outreach activities that promote pharmaceutical sciences and the university, including speaking at public forums or collaborating with industry stakeholders.
Qualifications Education and Experience
- Required:
- PhD or equivalent in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Experience or demonstrated potential for teaching at the university level.
- A strong record of research, including publications in peer-reviewed journals or other scholarly outputs.
- Preferred:
- Postdoctoral experience in pharmaceutics or a related field.
- Experience in grant writing and successful funding acquisition.
- Expertise in modern pharmaceutical technologies

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
