Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy (BPT).
- Master's Degree in Physiotherapy (MPT) in a relevant specialty from a recognized university.
- Minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade as per applicable regulations.
- Registration with the relevant professional authority/regulatory body as applicable.
- Ph.D. desirable but not mandatory for entry-level Assistant Professor positions in many institutions.
Experience
- Fresh MPT graduates may be eligible for appointment as Assistant Professor in some physiotherapy education frameworks.
- Preference may be given to candidates with:
- 1–3 years of teaching/clinical experience.
- Research publications in indexed journals.
- Experience in student mentoring and curriculum development.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Academic Activities
- Deliver theory, practical, and clinical teaching for BPT and MPT students.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and laboratory demonstrations.
- Conduct tutorials, seminars, journal clubs, and case discussions.
- Maintain attendance and academic records.
- Participate in curriculum planning and revision.
Clinical Supervision
- Guide students during hospital and community clinical postings.
- Demonstrate assessment and treatment techniques.
- Monitor students' clinical competencies and professional behavior.
- Coordinate with affiliated hospitals for clinical training.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Prepare question papers, assignments, and practical examinations.
- Conduct internal assessments and evaluations.
- Participate in university examinations and viva voce.
Research & Publications
- Undertake research projects in physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
- Publish research papers in peer-reviewed journals.
- Present papers at conferences, workshops, and seminars.
- Guide undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
Student Mentoring
- Act as a mentor for assigned students.
- Provide academic and career guidance.
- Support students in research and extracurricular activities.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Assist in departmental accreditation and quality assurance activities.
- Participate in committees and institutional events.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and departmental records.
- Organize Continuing Medical Education (CME), workshops, and outreach programs.
