Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Public Relations Executive with 1 -5 years of relevant experience to join our growing team. The PRE will play a crucial role in the day-to-day execution of client PR strategies, media relations, content development, and account management. This role requires strong writing skills, a proven ability to secure media placements, excellent organizational habits, and a proactive attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
Media Relations & Client Service:
- Media Pitching: Proactively develop and execute targeted media outreach strategies to secure coverage (print, online, broadcast) for clients in relevant trade, business, and national media.
- Relationship Building: Maintain and build strong relationships with key journalists, editors, and influencers in client-specific industries.
- Reporting: Track, monitor, and analyze media coverage using industry tools (e.g., Cision, Meltwater) and draft comprehensive coverage reports, including analysis of media impact.
- Client Communication: Serve as a primary day-to-day contact for clients, managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and ensuring project deadlines are met.
- Strategy Support: Assist Account Managers and Directors in the development of PR plans, media strategies, and client presentations.
Content Creation & Management:
- Content Drafting: Draft and edit a variety of PR materials, including press releases, media alerts, pitches, key messages, Q&As, backgrounders, and briefing documents.
- Social Media: Support social media initiatives, including drafting content, monitoring channels, and executing campaigns for clients (where applicable).
- Spokesperson Prep: Coordinate logistics and prepare spokespersons for media interviews, including developing talking points and brief overviews.
Account Administration :
- Organization: Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files, media lists, and activity trackers.
- Budget Support: Assist in monitoring account budgets and expenses.
- Time Management: Accurately track and manage time against client accounts.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree/ MBA in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- 1-5 years of experience working in a PR agency or in a comparable in-house communications role.
- Proven track record of securing meaningful media placements in business and trade media.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft professional, client-ready materials quickly and accurately.
- Strong understanding of the current media landscape and effective pitching techniques.
- Proficiency with PR tools (e.g., media databases, AI, ChatGPT, monitoring software, reporting platforms).
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple client projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
