A housekeeping supervisor oversees cleaning staff to ensure high sanitation standards, managing daily operations, staff scheduling, training, and inventory. Key duties include inspecting guest rooms and public areas, resolving guest complaints, managing inventory, reporting maintenance issues, and enforcing safety regulations to maintain a hygienic environment.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Staff Management & Training: Assigns daily cleaning tasks to room attendants and staff. Conducts training, provides refresher training, and fosters positive team morale.
- Quality Inspection: Inspects guest rooms and public areas, checking linen, amenities, and cleanliness. Ensures compliance with health, safety, and sanitation policies.
- Operational Coordination: Schedules shifts, organizes replacements, and manages room turnover. Reports maintenance issues (e.g., broken furniture, broken fixtures) to management.
- Inventory Control: Monitors inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities, submitting requisitions to restock.
- Guest Service: Resolves guest complaints regarding housekeeping services promptly and professionally.
- Hands-on Support: May perform cleaning duties, such as making beds or cleaning rooms, during staff shortages or busy periods.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Usually requires 3+ years of industry experience.
- Leadership: Strong team management and motivational skills.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with staff and other departments.
- Detail-Oriented: Keen attention to cleanliness and safety standards.
- Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks, such as overseeing 10-15 attendants and 30+ rooms daily
Pay: ₹10,879.40 - ₹12,861.61 per month
