About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Customs Clearance & Freight Forwarding Executive / Assistant to join our logistics team. You will assist with export/import documentation, customs clearance, shipment coordination, and client communication to ensure timely and compliant movement of cargo. This role is ideal for candidates starting their career in freight forwarding and customs operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process shipping documents: Bill of Lading (B/L), Airway Bill (AWB), Commercial Invoice, Packing List, and related paperwork.
- Coordinate bookings and cargo movements with shipping lines, airlines, transporters, and warehouses.
- Track shipments and provide timely status updates to clients and internal teams.
- Assist in preparation of import/export customs declarations under supervision.
- Liaise with Customs House Agents (CHA) or customs brokers to complete clearance formalities.
- Monitor customs clearance progress and follow up on regulatory requirements.
- Support HS code classification and ensure compliance with customs regulations.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation.
- Communicate professionally with clients, carriers, CHA, and internal departments.
- Provide billing and invoicing support when required.
- Support ad-hoc operational tasks to ensure smooth logistics execution.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: 12th pass / Diploma / Graduate in any discipline. Degree in Logistics, Commerce, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 6 months to 2 years in freight forwarding, customs clearance, or logistics operations preferred.
- Required skills: Basic knowledge of import/export documentation, familiarity with customs procedures and HS codes.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English and/or local language (Gujarati/Hindi).
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Customer service orientation, team player, attention to detail, and ability to work under deadlines.
