A Quality Manager in a spinning mill ensures yarn meets consistent, high-quality standards by supervising production, implementing control tests, and managing raw materials from fiber to finished cone. Key responsibilities include raw material testing, process control, reducing customer complaints, and adhering to ISO standards.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Raw Material & Process Control: Test raw materials (cotton/polyester), manage bale mixing, and monitor production stages (carding to winding).
- Quality Testing & Inspection: Implement quality control tests, inspect yarn at various stages, and ensure compliance with Uster statistics or customer-specific standards.
- Actionable Reporting: Analyze data to identify, document, and eliminate production issues and waste.
- Compliance & Audit: Maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) and facilitate audits.
- Team Leadership: Train and mentor technicians on quality standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering or Technology.
- 3+ years of experience in a quality assurance role within a textile spinning mill.
- Strong knowledge of yarn manufacturing processes (spinning preparation, carding, ring frame).
Skills
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of testing equipment (e.g., HVI, Uster tester).
- Analytical Skills: Root cause analysis and statistical process control.
- Communication: Ability to work with production and purchasing departments.
