Role description
We are looking for a highly skilled QA Automation Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Playwright with TypeScript, API Automation, and SQL.
The ideal candidate should have experience building scalable test automation frameworks, integrating automation suites with GitHub Actions pipelines, and working within modern CI/CD environments.
The candidate should possess a strong understanding of automation design patterns such as the Page Object Model (POM) and be comfortable collaborating in Agile teams.
Exposure to AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright and TypeScript.
Develop and execute API automation tests for RESTful services.
Create robust, reusable, and maintainable automation frameworks following industry best practices.
Design and execute database validations using SQL queries.
Integrate automated test suites into GitHub Actions pipelines for continuous testing.
Analyse test execution results, identify defects, and collaborate with development teams for resolution.
Participate actively in sprint planning, requirement analysis, and test strategy discussions.
Ensure automation code quality through code reviews and adherence to coding standards.
Maintain test reports, dashboards, and automation execution metrics.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the QA and DevOps ecosystem.
Mandatory Skills:
Automation Testing Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript.
In-depth understanding of UI automation framework design and implementation.
Experience implementing and maintaining Page Object Model (POM) or similar automation design patterns.
Experience handling cross-browser and responsive application testing.
API Testing Strong experience in API test automation.
Experience testing REST APIs using tools/frameworks such as: Playwright API Testing Rest Assured Postman/Newman Similar API automation frameworks Database Testing Proficient in writing and validating complex SQL queries. Experience performing backend and data validation testing across relational databases.
Source Control & CI/CD Strong experience with GitHub for source code management. Hands-on experience creating and maintaining GitHub Actions workflows. Understanding of CI/CD concepts and automation execution within pipelines.
Experience analysing pipeline failures and troubleshooting automation execution issues.
Testing Concepts Strong understanding of: Test automation architecture Automation framework design Test strategy and planning Agile/Scrum methodologies Defect management lifecycle Good to Have Experience using GitHub Copilot or AI-assisted development tools.
Exposure to AI-enabled testing solutions and test generation tools.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Experience with accessibility testing.
Experience integrating automation with test management tools such as ALM Octane, Jira, or Azure DevOps.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Candidate Profile Proven experience in building automation frameworks from scratch.
Strong coding skills in TypeScript/JavaScript.
Ability to drive automation initiatives and improve test coverage.
Passion for quality engineering, process improvements, and adoption of emerging technologies such as AI-assisted testing.
