Job description:
The Senior Store Officer will be responsible for managing and controlling all Store operations, including receipt, inspection, storage, inventory control, material issuance, stock verification, and documentation. The role requires ensuring the availability of materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and efficient Store operations.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 7–8 years of experience in Store Operations or Store Management.
- Experience in the manufacturing sector will be preferred.
- Experience in handling inventory management systems and ERP software is an advantage.
Roles & Responsibilities1. Inventory Management
- Receive incoming materials, equipment, and supplies and verify them against purchase orders, invoices, and delivery challans.
- Conduct inspection and ensure the quantity and condition of received materials are accurate.
- Maintain proper records of all inward and outward material movements.
- Ensure systematic storage, categorization, labelling, and identification of materials.
- Maintain accurate stock records using manual registers and/or ERP systems.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment of required materials.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical stock verification.
- Identify discrepancies in inventory and take necessary corrective action.
- Track material transfers and movement to and from the university.
- Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, damaged, and obsolete inventory.
2. Store Operations
- Manage and supervise the day-to-day operations of the Store.
- Supervise Store staff and allocate daily responsibilities.
- Ensure timely issuance of materials to various departments.
- Maintain proper documentation for material receipt, issue, return, transfer, and disposal.
- Ensure safe handling, loading, unloading, and storage of materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure Store environment.
- Ensure compliance with established Store procedures and safety standards.
3. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of stock, material transactions, and inventory movements.
- Prepare periodic inventory and stock reports for management.
- Coordinate with the Purchase, Finance, Maintenance, and other concerned departments.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required inventory records and documentation.
- Ensure all Store-related documents are properly maintained and filed.
4. Team Management
- Guide and supervise Store Assistants and other Store staff.
- Ensure work is completed efficiently and within timelines.
- Monitor adherence to Store procedures and operational requirements.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of Store and Inventory Management.
- Experience in material handling and stock control.
- Knowledge of ERP and inventory management systems.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
- Knowledge of stock auditing and physical verification.
- Documentation and record management skills.
- Team supervision and coordination skills.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to Store operations.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Candidate with 7–8 years of relevant Store Management experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing organization is preferred.
- Ability to manage inventory, Store operations, documentation, and staff independently.
Pay: ₹16,940.16 - ₹56,762.66 per month
