Key Responsibilities: Team Supervision
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of polishers in the finishing department.
- Allocate work based on production schedules and employee skills.
- Monitor workforce productivity and ensure timely completion of assigned jobs.
- Train, guide and motivate team members on polishing techniques and quality standards.
- Maintain discipline, attendance and housekeeping within the department.
Production Management
- Plan daily polishing activities according to production targets.
- Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and ensure on-time completion of furniture finishing.
- Minimize production delays and bottlenecks.
Quality Control
- Inspect furniture before, during and after the polishing process.
- Ensure uniform color, smooth finish, gloss level and surface quality.
- Identify and rectify defects such as scratches, dents, uneven polishing, discoloration, or finish imperfections.
- Ensure all finished products comply with Furniture World's quality standards before dispatch.
Material Management
- Monitor consumption of polishing materials including:
- Sandpaper
- Wood fillers
- Stains
- Sealers
- Primers
- PU Polish
- Melamine Finish
- Lacquer
- Thinners
- Buffing compounds
- Control material wastage and improve utilization.
- Coordinate with stores for timely availability of finishing materials.
Process Improvement
- Improve polishing methods to enhance productivity and finish quality.
- Reduce rework, rejection, and customer complaints.
- Recommend improvements in tools, equipment, and finishing techniques.
- Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for polishing activities.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure safe handling of paints, thinners, solvents, and polishing chemicals.
- Enforce the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain cleanliness and proper ventilation in the polishing area.
- Follow all company safety, environmental, and fire prevention guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma / Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
- 5–8 years of experience in furniture polishing or finishing.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a modular furniture manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of wooden furniture finishing processes.
Technical Skills

Working Conditions
- Factory/Production environment.
- Exposure to wood dust, polishing materials, paints, and solvents.
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Use of PPE is mandatory.
- Overtime may be required to meet production schedules.
Pay: ₹13,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
