We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Principal Officer – Forex & Head – Internal Compliance to lead the compliance function of our Full-Fledged Money Changer (FFMC) business. The role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance across all FFMC branches, strengthening the Company's internal compliance framework, and overseeing adherence to RBI, FEMA, PMLA, FIU-IND, and KYC/AML/CFT requirements.
The successful candidate will serve as the Principal Officer for the Forex Division while providing strategic leadership to the Internal Compliance Department, ensuring the highest standards of governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the Internal Compliance Department across all FFMC branches.
- Ensure compliance with the Company's Board-approved internal policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Monitor adherence to RBI Master Directions, circulars, notifications, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), FIU-IND guidelines, and KYC/AML/CFT regulations.
- Develop and implement effective compliance monitoring and internal control mechanisms.
- Conduct periodic compliance reviews, branch audits, and risk assessments to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor implementation of corrective and preventive actions across all branches.
- Supervise, mentor, and coordinate the Compliance Team to ensure consistent implementation of the Company's compliance framework.
- Prepare and present compliance reports, regulatory updates, and risk assessments to Senior Management and the Board, as required.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities during inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Ensure timely submission of regulatory reports and maintenance of statutory records.
- Promote a strong compliance culture through employee awareness, training, and continuous process improvement.
- Continue to discharge responsibilities as Principal Officer – Forex Division while undertaking additional compliance leadership responsibilities.
- Perform any other duties assigned by Management from time to time.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related discipline. Professional certifications in Compliance, AML, Risk Management, or Banking will be an advantage.
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in the Forex, Banking, NBFC, or Financial Services industry, with significant experience in regulatory compliance.
- Thorough knowledge of RBI regulations governing FFMC operations.
- Strong understanding of FEMA, PMLA, FIU-IND reporting requirements, KYC/AML/CFT guidelines, and related regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in compliance monitoring, internal audits, regulatory reporting, and risk management.
- Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and report-writing abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and compliance reporting systems.
