Job Description:
An Electrical Wireman at our construction company installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems, conduits, and wiring layouts on active job sites. This role ensures all electrical infrastructure is safe, functional, and compliant with relevant building codes.
Key Responsibilities:
· Wiring & Installation: Lay out, assemble, install, and connect electrical wiring, conduits, cables, switches, and circuit-breaker panels.
· Blueprint Reading: Interpret architectural blueprints, circuit diagrams, and technical schematics to plan wire routing and component placement.
· System Testing: Utilize diagnostic tools like multi-meters, ammeters, and voltmeters to test electrical continuity and system safety.
· Troubleshooting: Diagnose malfunctions in electrical systems, isolate faults, and repair or replace defective components.
· Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to local building codes, National Electrical Code (NEC) standards, and company safety protocols.
· Site Collaboration: Coordinate with construction managers, supervisors, and other tradespeople to ensure timely project completion.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience as a wireman or electrician on residential, commercial, or industrial construction sites.
· Licensing: Valid state Wireman license, Electrician license, or recognized trade certification.
· Technical Skills: Proficiency in bending conduits, running wires through walls/floors, and reading complex single-line diagrams.
· Tools Knowledge: Experience safely operating hand tools, power tools, and specialized electrical testing equipment.
· Physical Fitness: Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift up to 50 lbs, and stand for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
· Safety Training: Current OSHA certification (e.g., OSHA 10 or OSHA 30) is highly preferred.
