Position: Senior Design Engineer – Mechanical
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Design Engineer – Mechanical with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in mechanical design and product development. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in machine design, engineering calculations, manufacturing processes, and CAD modelling while ensuring projects are delivered with high quality and within target timelines. Experience in Special Purpose Machines (SPM) design will be considered a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical systems, assemblies, and components based on customer and project requirements.
- Prepare detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, material selection, and design validation.
- Develop innovative and cost-effective design solutions while considering manufacturability, assembly, and maintenance.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, quality, and project teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Review and verify designs for functionality, safety, reliability, and compliance with applicable engineering standards.
- Support prototype development, testing, troubleshooting, and design improvements.
- Identify design risks and implement corrective actions during project execution.
- Ensure all engineering documentation is maintained according to company standards and revision control procedures.
- Mentor junior design engineers and provide technical guidance during project execution.
- Participate in customer discussions, technical reviews, and design presentations whenever required.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for design quality, productivity, and standardization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering.
- Strong proficiency in CAD softwares.
- Good understanding of GD&T, manufacturing processes, material selection, machine elements, and engineering standards.
- Experience in sheet metal, machining, fabrication, assemblies, and structural design.
- Ability to independently handle complete design projects from concept to manufacturing.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Special Purpose Machines (SPM) design and development is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of automation systems, pneumatic and hydraulic mechanisms.
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and cost optimization techniques.
- Exposure to FEA analysis and simulation tools is preferred.
- Understanding of industrial safety standards and machine design guidelines.

Experience
5+ Years in Mechanical Design Engineering.
Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
