Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Azure L2 Migration Engineer to support enterprise cloud migration projects. The candidate will be responsible for executing and supporting server, application, and infrastructure migrations to Microsoft Azure while ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to project timelines. The engineer will work closely with Azure architects, L3 engineers, project managers, and customer IT teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute server and workload migrations from on-premises or other cloud platforms to Microsoft Azure.
- Perform Azure VM provisioning, configuration, and post-migration validation.
- Support migration activities using Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery (ASR), and other migration tools.
- Configure and manage Azure networking components including Virtual Networks, NSGs, Load Balancers, VPN Gateways, and ExpressRoute (basic support).
- Monitor migration progress and resolve L2 technical issues during migration windows.
- Perform health checks and validation after migration.
- Troubleshoot Azure IaaS-related issues involving compute, storage, networking, and identity.
- Support Active Directory integration and Microsoft Entra ID synchronization.
- Create and maintain migration documentation, SOPs, and knowledge articles.
- Coordinate with customers during migration planning, execution, and hypercare support.
- Escalate complex technical issues to L3 engineers when required.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security and operational standards.
Required Technical Skills
- Microsoft Azure Administration

- Network Security Groups (NSG)
- Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Windows Server Administration (2012/2016/2019/2022)
- Linux Administration (RHEL, Ubuntu)
- PowerShell scripting (basic to intermediate)
- Basic understanding of ARM Templates/Bicep
- Basic understanding of Azure Policy and RBAC
Preferred Skills
- Experience in VMware to Azure migrations.
- Knowledge of SQL Server migration.
- Understanding of Azure Landing Zones.
- Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Azure Arc is desirable.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
- Understanding of Azure Cost Management and optimization.
Certifications (Preferred)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (Preferred)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (Good to have)
