Job Summary:
The CT Scan Technician is responsible for performing high-quality CT imaging procedures as prescribed by consultants while ensuring patient safety, radiation protection, equipment maintenance, and adherence to hospital protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for CT scan procedures by explaining the process and obtaining necessary consent.
- Verify patient identity and physician's requisition before performing the scan.
- Position patients correctly to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Operate CT scan equipment according to established protocols.
- Assist radiologists during contrast-enhanced and special CT procedures.
- Monitor patients during and after contrast administration for any adverse reactions.
- Ensure proper radiation safety measures for patients, attendants, and staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the CT scan room and equipment.
- Perform routine equipment quality checks and report any malfunction immediately.
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation in RIS/PACS/HIS.
- Coordinate with nursing staff, emergency department, ICU, and consultants for timely investigations.
- Follow infection prevention and biomedical waste management protocols.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives.
- Attend mandatory training programs and departmental meetings.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Radiology Manager or Hospital Administration.
Qualifications:
- B.Sc. in Radiography, Medical Imaging Technology, or equivalent.
- CT Scan certification/training preferred.
- Registration with the applicable State Paramedical Council (where required).
Experience:
- 1–2 years: CT Technician
- Experience in a multi-specialty hospital preferred.
Required Skills:
- Good knowledge of CT imaging techniques.
- Understanding of radiation safety principles.
- Ability to handle emergency and trauma patients.
- Basic knowledge of contrast media administration.
- Familiarity with PACS, RIS, and Hospital Information Systems.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Teamwork and patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts, weekends, and on-call duties.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Patient identification accuracy.
- Quality of CT images with minimal repeat scans.
- Compliance with radiation safety protocols.
- Timely completion of scheduled investigations.
- Equipment uptime and preventive maintenance compliance.
- Patient satisfaction and professional conduct.
- Proper documentation and record maintenance.
- Adherence to infection control and quality standards.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to radiation with appropriate protective measures.
- May be required to assist during emergencies and critical care situations.
Pay: From ₹25,000.00 per month
