DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced, empathetic, and highly organized HR Executive to carry out our human resources functions. Unlike a corporate environment, an international school thrives on a community-centric culture where empathy, patience, and relationship-building are just as important as policy enforcement.
In this role, you will handle the entire employee lifecycle—from attracting top-tier global educators to handling complex payroll, compliance, and employee grievances. To succeed, you must be a champion of confidential data management, possess exceptional English communication skills, and understand the fluid, event-driven calendar of an educational institution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- End-to-End Recruitment & Onboarding: Handle the full talent acquisition cycle for academic, administrative, and support staff. This includes sourcing international and local educators, conducting background and reference checks, managing visa/work permit processes, and designing welcoming orientation programs.
- Policy Formulation & Implementation: Update and implement school HR policies, staff handbooks, and codes of conduct. Ensure all policies align with local labor laws, international educational standards, and child safeguarding protocols.
- Payroll & Benefits Administration: Handle monthly payroll processing, tax deductions, social security, health insurance, and end-of-service benefits with zero margin for error.
- PF & ESI: Deep understanding of statutory compliance regarding PF and ESI, with proven expertise in handling registrations, monthly contributions, and documentation directly through the official portals.
- Employee Relations & Grievance Handling: Act as the primary point of contact for staff grievances, conflicts, and personal queries. Mediate issues with high emotional intelligence, escalate it to the respective Leads / HODs / HOS and ensuring fair resolutions while maintaining a harmonious school climate.
- Data Management & HRIS: Maintain meticulous, up-to-date physical and digital employee records (contracts, performance reviews, credentials). Fully manage the school’s HRIS (Human Resources Information System) to ensure data accuracy and generate insightful HR reports.
- Confidentiality & Compliance: Handle sensitive information—such as salary structures, legal disputes, performance issues, and medical records—with the utmost discretion and integrity.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
- 3 to 5 years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 2 years specifically within an international school setting is mandatory. (Experience navigating expatriate teacher recruitment and visa regulations is highly preferred).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Must have atleast 2 years of experience in statutory compliance regarding PF, ESI and navigating their portals.
- Hands-on experience working with HRIS software and payroll systems.
- Exceptional organizational skills for maintaining foolproof soft and hard copy filing systems.
- Strong understanding of local labor laws and employment regulations governing educational institutions.
CULTURAL FIT & WORKING ATTRIBUTES:
- A deep understanding that a school environment requires an approachable, flexible, sensitive and nurturing HR presence rather than a rigid, corporate corporate approach.
- Ability to adapt to the school calendar. This includes preparing for peak hiring seasons (usually prior to the new academic year) and being flexible with working hours during major school events, orientations, or parent-teacher weeks.
- The ability to remain calm, objective, and supportive under pressure while dealing with sensitive personal or professional staff issues.
Applicants without relevant qualification and experience are requested NOT TO APPLY and will not be considered. Freshers are requested NOT to apply. The candidates are requested NOT TO CALL THE SCHOOL.
