Mahara Schools is seeking an experienced, passionate, and visionary Centre Head / Principal to lead our Pre-Primary and Primary school with excellence. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving academic quality, overseeing day-to-day school operations, mentoring and developing teachers, strengthening parent engagement, and fostering a safe, joyful, inclusive, and child-centred learning environment.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication and people-management skills, and a deep understanding of contemporary educational practices, with the ability to align academic and operational practices with NEP 2020, the National Curriculum Framework (NCF), and child-centred learning principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the academic, administrative, and operational functions of the school.
- Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, student development, and classroom practices.
- Mentor, motivate, and develop teachers and support staff through effective leadership and regular performance reviews.
- Drive implementation of NEP 2020, NCF, and progressive child-centred learning methodologies.
- Build strong, positive, and professional relationships with parents and the wider school community.
- Ensure a safe, nurturing, disciplined, and engaging environment for every child.
- Monitor student progress and support teachers in implementing effective learning interventions.
- Coordinate school events, activities, assessments, and academic planning.
- Maintain high standards of school administration, documentation, compliance, and communication.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and growth of the centre.
Candidate Requirements
- Master’s Degree in any discipline; M.Ed. preferred.
- B.Ed. is an added advantage.
- Diploma/Certification in Early Childhood Education (ECCEd/NTT/Montessori) preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience, including 2+ years in a leadership/administrative role.
- Proven experience managing Pre-Primary and Primary school operations.
- Strong understanding of NEP 2020, NCF, and child-centred learning methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, decision-making, and team-management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and school administration/ERP systems.
- Strong parent-engagement and stakeholder-management abilities.
- A genuine passion for creating meaningful, joyful, and future-ready learning experiences for children.
Preferred Advantage
Candidates with prior experience in Cambridge curriculum/schools will be given preference.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
