Job Summary:
The Store Supervisor is responsible for managing daily store operations, including material receiving, storage, issuing materials to the plant, maintaining stock accuracy, and supervising packing and physical handling activities. The role requires hands-on involvement in store activities along with team supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Material Receiving & Storage
- Receive incoming materials and verify against purchase orders and delivery challans
- Inspect materials for quantity and basic quality
- Ensure proper labelling and storage in designated locations
2. Material Issue to Plant
- Issue materials to production/plant as per authorised requisitions
- Maintain records of issued materials (manual or system-based)
- Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production delays
3. Stock Management
- Maintain accurate stock records (in registers/ERP)
- Perform regular stock checks and physical inventory counts
- Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels
- Report shortages, damages, or discrepancies
4. Packing & Dispatch Support
- Supervise packing of finished goods or materials
- Ensure correct packing methods and quantities
- Assist in loading/unloading of goods when required
- Coordinate dispatch activities with the logistics team
5. Physical Store Operations
- Oversee daily housekeeping and organisation of the store
- Ensure proper stacking, safety, and space utilisation
- Participate in physical work like lifting, shifting, and arranging materials when needed
6. Team Supervision
- Supervise store helpers/workers
- Assign daily tasks and monitor performance
- Ensure discipline and adherence to safety procedures
7. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain records such as GRN, issue slips, and stock registers
- Prepare daily/weekly stock and issue reports
- Coordinate with purchase, production, and accounts departments
Skills & Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of inventory/store management
- Ability to handle physical work (lifting, shifting materials)
- Familiarity with ERP/software (preferred but not mandatory)
- Good organisational and supervision skills
- Basic communication and record-keeping ability
Education & Experience:
- Minimum: B.Com / M.Com
- Experience: Fresher and 2–5 years in store/warehouse operations preferred
Work Environment:
- Factory/warehouse setting
- Requires physical activity and standing for long hours
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
