Field Service Technician – Automated Orange Juice Vending Machines
Job Summary
The Field Service Technician will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automated orange juice vending machines at customer locations. The role requires travel, preventive maintenance, emergency breakdown support, and ensuring maximum machine uptime.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and commission new vending machines.
- Perform preventive maintenance as per schedule.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues.
- Diagnose PLC, sensors, motors, pumps, valves, and control systems.
- Replace faulty components and calibrate machines.
- Maintain refrigeration and cooling systems.
- Ensure hygiene and food safety standards.
- Respond quickly to machine breakdowns.
- Coordinate with the operations team for spare parts.
- Update service reports using a mobile app or CRM.
- Train franchisees or operators on basic machine handling.
- Monitor machine health remotely if IoT-enabled.
Technical Skills Required
- Electrical wiring (single-phase and three-phase)
- Motors and gearboxes
- Solenoid valves and pumps
- PLC basics (preferred)
- Sensors (photoelectric, proximity, level, pressure)
- HMI and touchscreen troubleshooting
- Refrigeration systems
- Pneumatics (if applicable)
- Preventive maintenance planning
- Basic computer and smartphone skills
Preferred Qualification
- Diploma/ITI in:
- Electrical
- Electronics
- Mechatronics
- Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
- Instrumentation
Experience
- 0–2 years: Junior Service Technician (can be trained)
- 2–5 years: Service Engineer (preferred)
- Experience in vending machines, coffee machines, ATMs, packaging machines, or food processing equipment is an advantage.
