PLC Electrical Engineer – Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, program, and commission Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems for industrial automation.
- Develop PLC logic, Human-Machine Interface (HMI), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) applications.
- Install, test, and troubleshoot electrical control panels, PLCs, drives, sensors, and field instruments.
- Perform electrical wiring, panel inspection, and verification according to electrical drawings and standards.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, PLC, and automation system faults to minimize production downtime.
- Conduct preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on automation equipment.
- Configure and integrate Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), servo systems, motors, and industrial communication networks.
- Read, interpret, and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
- Perform system testing, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning activities.
- Support equipment upgrades, process improvements, and automation projects.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, company policies, and industry regulations.
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, mechanical, and instrumentation teams during installations and troubleshooting.
- Maintain backup copies of PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs and update documentation after modifications.
- Train operators and maintenance personnel on the operation and troubleshooting of automation systems.
- Prepare technical reports, maintenance records, and project documentation.
