Niraamaya Retreats Surya Samudra, Kovalam is looking for a passionate and guest-focused F&B Service Captain to join our Food & Beverage team. The ideal candidate will have strong restaurant service skills, excellent communication, and the ability to lead a team while delivering warm, personalised service in a luxury resort environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the F&B service team during daily operations.
- Ensure smooth and efficient restaurant service as per hotel standards.
- Welcome guests, take orders and provide personalised service throughout their dining experience.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of food, beverages, menus and service standards.
- Handle guest requests, feedback and complaints professionally and promptly.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings and allocate duties to team members.
- Ensure proper restaurant setup, mise-en-place and service readiness.
- Coordinate effectively with Kitchen, Bar, Stewarding and other departments.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, grooming and presentation.
- Promote suggestive selling and upselling of food and beverage items.
- Ensure accurate order taking, billing and payment procedures.
- Support special events, private dining, VIP arrangements and other F&B functions.
- Train, guide and motivate junior team members and trainees.
- Follow all hotel SOPs, food safety, hygiene and safety standards.
- Maintain a high level of guest satisfaction and service excellence.
Candidate Profile
- Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management or Hospitality Management preferred.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in F&B Service, preferably in a reputed hotel, luxury resort or fine-dining restaurant.
- Previous experience in a Captain/Senior F&B Service role is preferred.
- Good knowledge of food and beverage service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong guest-handling and problem-solving abilities.
- Good leadership and team-management skills.
- Knowledge of POS and restaurant billing systems.
- Well-groomed, courteous and service-oriented.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, weekends and holidays.
