1. Job Purpose
To manage day-to-day accounting and financial activities of the hotel/resort, ensure accurate books of accounts, timely financial reporting, statutory compliance, cash and revenue controls, and effective coordination with various operational departments.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. General Accounting
a) Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts.
b) Handle day-to-day accounting transactions, including journal entries, ledgers, receivables and payables.
c) Prepare bank, vendor, customer and general ledger reconciliations.
d) Monitor outstanding receivables and payables.
e) Ensure proper accounting of revenue, expenses, assets and liabilities.
B. Hotel/Restaurant Revenue Accounting
a) Monitor and reconcile daily revenue from Rooms, Food & Beverage, Banquets, Restaurants and other hotel services.
b) Verify daily revenue reports generated through the PMS/POS system and reconcile them with accounting records.
c) Check cash, credit card, UPI, online booking and other payment collections.
d) Coordinate with Front Office, F&B, Stores and other departments for revenue reconciliation.
e) Identify and report discrepancies, unusual transactions or revenue leakages.
C. Accounts Payable & Receivable
a) Verify supplier invoices, purchase bills and supporting documents.
b) Ensure timely processing of vendor payments after appropriate approvals.
c) Monitor customer/company/agent receivables and follow up for outstanding payments.
d) Reconcile vendor and customer accounts regularly.
D. Cost Control & Inventory
a) Coordinate with Stores/Purchase and operational departments for inventory accounting.
b) Monitor food, beverage and other operating costs.
c) Assist in Food Cost / Beverage Cost analysis and investigate significant variances.
d) Verify consumption, wastage, stock adjustments and physical inventory reports.
e) Support monthly stock verification and reconciliation.
E. MIS & Financial Reporting
a) Prepare monthly MIS and financial statements.
b) Prepare revenue, expense, profitability and variance reports.
c) Provide management with relevant financial analysis and business insights.
d) Assist in budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow planning.
e) Analyse actual performance against budget and highlight significant variances.
F. Statutory Compliance
a) Ensure timely compliance with applicable statutory requirements, including GST, TDS, PF, ESIC and other applicable laws.
b) Coordinate with consultants/auditors for statutory and tax matters.
c) Maintain proper records and documentation for audits.
d) Assist in internal, statutory and tax audits.
G. Cash & Banking
a) Monitor daily cash collections and cash deposits.
b) Reconcile bank accounts and payment gateway collections.
c) Ensure appropriate cash-handling and financial control procedures.
d) Monitor petty cash and ensure proper supporting documentation.
H. Audit & Internal Controls
a) Ensure adherence to accounting policies, financial controls and approval procedures.
b) Coordinate with internal/statutory auditors.
c) Identify control weaknesses and recommend corrective measures.
d) Maintain proper documentation and audit trails.
3. Required Qualification
a) B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification.
b) CA/CA Inter qualification would be an added advantage.
4. Required Experience
a) 06–08 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounts, preferably in a hotel, resort, restaurant chain or hospitality organisation.
b) Strong practical exposure to hotel accounting, revenue reconciliation, inventory/cost control and statutory compliance.
c) Experience in handling accounts independently and coordinating with operational departments.
5. Technical Skills
Candidate should have good working knowledge of:
a) Hotel PMS and POS systems
b) Tally / ERP / accounting software
c) MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and basic financial analysis
d) GST and TDS
e) Bank reconciliation
f) Revenue reconciliation
g) Inventory and cost accounting
h) MIS and financial reporting

Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be a hands-on hospitality finance professional with 6–8 years of experience who understands not only accounting but also the commercial and operational aspects of a hotel/resort, particularly daily revenue audit, F&B accounting, cost control, inventory, PMS/POS reconciliation, vendor management, GST/TDS and management reporting.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
