Job Title: Professor – Pharmacology
Job Location: Ahalia School of Pharmacy, Palakkad, Kerala
Job Purpose:
To provide high-quality teaching in Pharmacology, mentor students, and contribute to research and academic development of the Department, while supporting institutional goals in education, research, and community service.
Key Responsibilities:Teaching & Academic Duties
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions in Pharmacology at UG levels.
- Prepare lesson plans, practical manuals, and course content aligned with PCI/UGC norms and outcome-based education (OBE).
- Supervise student projects, seminars, internships, and dissertations.
- Conduct assessments (exams, assignments, viva-voce) and ensure fair evaluation.
- Integrate ICT tools and innovative teaching methods in classroom and laboratory teaching.
Research & Development
- Publish high-quality research papers in peer-reviewed journals and present work in conferences.
- Apply for research grants from government bodies and industry.
- Guide postgraduate and doctoral students (if applicable).
Institutional & Administrative Duties
- Contribute to curriculum development, syllabus revision, and accreditation activities (NBA, NAAC, PCI).
- Ensure proper operation, calibration, and safety of laboratory equipment and chemicals.
- Participate in departmental meetings, academic audits, and institutional committees.
- Mentor students for academic growth, higher studies, and career planning.
Professional Development & Community Engagement
- Attend Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), workshops, and training programs.
- Establish collaborations with research institutes and pharmaceutical industries.
- Participate in extension activities, health awareness programs, and community service initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Essential:
- M.Pharm in Pharmacology related specialization with first class.
- Desirable:
- Ph.D. in Pharmacology or allied field.
- Publications in indexed journals.
- Teaching/research/industry experience.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong subject knowledge in subjects
- Hands-on expertise in advanced analytical instruments (HPLC, GC, NMR, FTIR, UV-Vis, LC-MS, etc.).
- Effective teaching, mentoring, and communication skills.
- Research aptitude with grant-writing and project execution abilities.
- Team spirit, leadership qualities, and commitment to academic excellence.
