Job Summary:
We are seeking a Lab Assistant / Programmer for the Computer Applications Department to support laboratory operations, programming activities, and technical assistance for students and faculty members. The candidate will assist in conducting practical sessions, maintaining computer systems and software, supporting coding and application development activities, and ensuring smooth functioning of computer laboratories. The role requires sound knowledge of programming, computer systems, software applications, and laboratory management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist faculty members in conducting practical classes and laboratory sessions for Computer Applications students.
- Prepare computer systems, software applications, and laboratory resources before practical sessions.
- Support students in programming, coding, debugging, application development, database activities, and project work.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software applications, development tools, and laboratory systems.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues and ensure the smooth functioning of laboratory resources.
- Maintain records of laboratory inventory, software licenses, system usage, and maintenance schedules.
- Monitor laboratory activities and ensure adherence to laboratory policies and discipline.
- Support coding competitions, workshops, seminars, and practical examinations conducted by the department.
- Ensure proper security, organization, and maintenance of computer systems, networking devices, and laboratory equipment.
- Coordinate with faculty members and department staff for the smooth execution of laboratory and technical activities.
Desired Candidate Qualification
- B.E / B.Tech in Computer Science or allied branch – mandatory.
- 1–3 years of experience in programming, software support, or computer laboratory management.
- Strong knowledge of programming languages, database concepts, and software applications.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, networking, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to support students in coding, debugging, and project development activities.
- Good knowledge of operating systems, software installation, and laboratory maintenance procedures.
- Basic documentation and record maintenance skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively with faculty members and students.
- Experience in educational institutions/polytechnic/engineering colleges is preferred.
