2. Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Automation Engineer to design, develop, test and commission industrial automation systems for manufacturing and process industries. The role involves PLC, HMI, SCADA programming, system integration, troubleshooting and on-site commissioning while ensuring timely project execution and customer satisfaction.
3. Key Responsibilities
- Develop PLC programs using Siemens TIA Portal (S7-1200, S7-1500, ET200SP), PCS7 (S7400-H) and other PLC platforms as required.
- Design and configure HMI applications using WinCC Comfort/Advanced and FactoryTalk View (ME/SE) where applicable.
- Develop and configure SCADA systems including WinCC V7/V8, PCS7 and other industrial SCADA platforms.
- Configure industrial communication protocols such as Profinet, Profibus, Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC UA and Ethernet/IP.
- Perform software FAT, SAT and on-site commissioning of automation systems.
- Integrate PLCs with VFDs, remote I/O, instruments and third-party devices.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and communication issues during commissioning and production support.
- Prepare I/O lists, tag databases, alarm lists, cause-and-effect matrices and functional design documents.
- Co-ordinate with design and project management teams during project execution.
- Provide technical support to customers during installation, startup and service periods.
- Maintain project documentation, backups and software revision records.
4. Required Skills
- Siemens TIA Portal (V15–V20) & PCS7 V8,9,10.
- PLC Programming – Siemens S7-1200, S7-1500, ET200SP, S7400-H.
- WinCC Comfort, WinCC Professional, WinCC V7/V8 and PCS7.
- Industrial Networking – Profinet, Profibus, Modbus, OPC.
- VFD integration (ABB, Siemens, Danfoss, Schneider, etc.).
- Troubleshooting of PLC, HMI, SCADA and industrial Ethernet networks.
- Understanding of electrical control panels, MCCs, sensors, actuators and instrumentation.
5. Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, or related field.
- Experience in process industries such as Food & Beverage, Pharmaceuticals, Water Treatment, Oil & Gas or Manufacturing.
- Knowledge of redundant PLC/SCADA architecture and industrial cybersecurity is an advantage.
6. Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and customer-handling abilities.
- Ability to work independently during site commissioning.
- Team player with good documentation and reporting skills.
- Willingness to travel to customer locations across India and overseas.
