Position: – Die Maintenance Technician
Experience: 4 to 5Years
Location: Deeksha Exports Pvt. Ltd. ( Waghjai Nagar, Chakan )

The Die Maintenance is responsible for the preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of high-pressure die casting (HPDC) dies to ensure optimum die performance, minimize production downtime, improve die life, and maintain product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, breakdown, and scheduled maintenance of die casting dies.
- Inspect dies for wear, cracks, erosion, soldering, flash, vent blockage, and alignment issues.
- Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble dies after production.
- Carry out polishing, fitting, grinding, machining, welding, and replacement of damaged die components.
- Repair core pins, ejector pins, sliders, inserts, cooling lines, vents, and guide elements.
- Ensure proper functioning of die cooling circuits, ejector systems, and slide mechanisms.
- Maintain die dimensions and alignment as per engineering drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with production and quality teams to resolve die-related quality issues.
- Analyse die failures and recommend corrective actions to improve die life and reduce downtime.
- Maintain die maintenance records, repair history, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, 5S, and housekeeping practices in the tool room.
- Assist in die trials, die setup, and process improvement activities.
- Spare Management – Minimum & Maximum Spare requirement / Ordering of spares modification. If required/ follow up with supplier & Spare availability.
Qualifications
- ITI in Tool & Die Making, Fitter, Machinist, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 4–5 years of experience in die maintenance within an aluminium or zinc high-pressure die casting environment.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of HPDC die construction and maintenance.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Experience with polishing, grinding, milling, drilling, and TIG welding for die repair.
- Knowledge of tool steels, heat treatment, and die coatings.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, and height gauges.
- Understanding of cooling systems, venting, and ejection mechanisms.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is preferred.
