Roles & Responsibilities of a Psychologist
1. Assessment & Intake Begin by understanding the client in depth. Conduct intake interviews and biopsychosocial assessments. Use tools like HAMA, HAMD, AUDIT, or BDI to get a clear picture of their mental health and substance use patterns. Identify strengths, challenges, and their needs for recovery support.
2. File Work & Documentation Keep things organized—clear documentation is essential. Maintain detailed client records with session notes, assessment scores, and discharge summaries. Ensure everything is updated and auditready to support seamless coordination across the team.
3. Administration of Rating Scales Regularly administer and score psychological assessments to monitor client progress. Accurately record and file the results, making them accessible for clinical decision-making and treatment updates. 4. Service Coordination Be the communication link between clients and other support systems. This includes coordinating with psychiatrists, doctors, therapists, families, and—when necessary—legal or vocational services.

5. Monitoring & Compliance Observe and track daily progress—whether it’s medication adherence, therapy attendance, or behavioral changes. Highlight concerns and help clients stay engaged and compliant with their care plan.
6. Discharge Planning Support clients in preparing for life after rehab. Handle discharge paperwork, coordinate aftercare, and ensure connections to community services or relapse prevention resources. Guide both clients and families through what comes next.
7. Conducting Group & Individual Activities Facilitate or support therapeutic and skill-building activities—like group therapy, mindfulness, or expressive art sessions. These create structure, self-awareness, and emotional growth. 8. Team Communication & Meetings Actively participate in case discussions and team meetings. Share clinical updates and collaborate closely with psychiatrists, case managers, nurses, and support staff to provide holistic care.
9. Crisis Intervention If a client becomes distressed or unstable, respond with calm and clarity. Use de-escalation skills, ensure safety, and coordinate immediate psychiatric or medical care when needed
10. Life Skills & Psychoeducation Equip clients with life skills that enhance recovery—managing stress, building routines, improving emotional control, and avoiding relapse. Conduct or support psychoeducation sessions for clients and their families to promote insight and resilience.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per hour
