Job Summary
A Civil Engineer at a construction site is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing construction projects while ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with design specifications and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage day-to-day construction site activities
- Ensure work is carried out as per drawings, designs, and specifications
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders
- Monitor project progress and prepare daily/weekly reports
- Ensure quality control and compliance with safety standards
- Perform site inspections and resolve technical issues
- Manage materials, labor, and equipment efficiently
- Review and interpret engineering drawings and plans
- Ensure adherence to local building codes and regulations
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Relevant certifications (if required by local authorities)
- 1–5+ years of experience in construction/site engineering
Key Skills
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Project management and organizational skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of software like AutoCAD, STAAD, or similar tools
Work Environment
- Primarily based on construction sites
