Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced AWS Cloud Operations & Patching Engineer (L2) to manage day-to-day cloud operations, operating system patching, backup monitoring, infrastructure maintenance, and Level-2 support for AWS-hosted environments.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure, AWS Systems Manager, CloudWatch, AWS Backup, Linux/Windows administration, and operational support across Production, UAT, Development, Shared Services, and Network environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesAWS Cloud Operations
- Provide L2 operational support for AWS-hosted infrastructure across multiple AWS accounts.
- Monitor and maintain AWS services including EC2, EBS, AMIs, S3, CloudWatch, AWS Systems Manager, Security Groups, and Snapshots.
- Perform health checks and troubleshoot issues related to CPU, memory, disk utilization, instance status, and service availability.
- Support day-to-day cloud infrastructure maintenance and operational activities.
Patch Management
- Manage OS patching for Linux and Windows EC2 instances using AWS Systems Manager Patch Manager.
- Execute patching activities as per approved maintenance windows and patch calendars.
- Configure and maintain Patch Baselines, Patch Groups, Maintenance Windows, Compliance Reports, and Systems Manager Associations.
- Validate successful installation of security patches, kernel updates, Windows KB updates, and OS package updates.
- Troubleshoot patch failures and ensure compliance across environments.
Linux & Windows Administration
- Perform L2 troubleshooting for Linux and Windows servers.
- Review system logs, monitor services, verify filesystem utilization, DNS resolution, and network connectivity.
- Support server maintenance and operational health checks.
AWS Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Create and maintain AWS Backup Plans based on organizational backup policies.
- Monitor backup jobs, recovery points, retention policies, and backup compliance.
- Validate EC2 AMIs, EBS snapshots, and database backups.
- Perform periodic backup restoration testing to ensure disaster recovery readiness.
Database Operations
- Support minor version upgrades and patch updates for AWS managed database services:
- Amazon RDS
- Amazon Aurora
- Amazon ElastiCache
- Amazon DocumentDB
- Track pending maintenance activities and scheduled database updates.
Monitoring & Compliance
- Monitor infrastructure using Amazon CloudWatch.
- Track patch compliance using AWS Systems Manager Compliance reports and VAPT findings.
- Prepare operational evidence for audit, Information Security, and compliance reporting.
- Review AWS resource tagging standards and coordinate remediation where required.
Resource Optimization
- Identify unused AWS resources including:
- Unattached EBS Volumes
- Old Snapshots
- Unused AMIs
- Stopped EC2 Instances
- Unused Elastic Network Interfaces (ENIs)
- Coordinate cleanup activities after approval.
Network & Connectivity Support
- Perform L2 troubleshooting for application connectivity between on-premises environments and AWS.
- Troubleshoot:
- DNS resolution
- Security Groups
- Amazon VPC connectivity
- S3 access issues
- Endpoint connectivity
- Bucket Policy access issues
- Network reachability
Coordination & Change Management
- Coordinate with application teams for:
- Maintenance windows
- Downtime approvals
- Pre and post-patch validation
- Application sanity testing
- Prepare change implementation and execution reports.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator (preferred).
- Experience with ITIL-based operations and change management processes is an advantage.
- Exposure to Information Security, Compliance, and VAPT remediation is desirable.
Preferred Experience
- 3–6 years of experience in AWS Cloud Operations or Cloud Infrastructure Support.
- Hands-on experience in Linux and Windows server administration.
- Experience managing AWS patching, backup, monitoring, and operational support.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across AWS infrastructure and cloud services.
- Experience working in Production support environments with multiple AWS accounts.
Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
