Job Purpose
To supervise and coordinate all yard production activities related to the fabrication, assembly, testing, finishing, and dispatch of DNV 2.7-1 certified offshore containers and refrigerated containers. The role ensures production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and certification compliance are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Execution
Supervise daily yard production activities as per the approved production schedule. Allocate manpower, equipment, and materials to optimize productivity. Monitor work progress and ensure timely completion of manufacturing milestones. Coordinate with fabrication, welding, painting, electrical, refrigeration, and quality departments.
Manufacturing Supervision Oversee fabrication, assembly, welding, fit-up, blasting, painting, insulation, refrigeration system installation, and final assembly. Ensure manufacturing processes comply with approved drawings, work instructions, and customer specifications. Verify availability of materials, tools, and lifting equipment before commencement of work. Monitor productivity and minimize downtime. Quality & Certification Compliance Ensure compliance with DNV 2.7-1 requirements and applicable offshore container standards. Coordinate with QA/QC for inspections, dimensional checks, NDT, load testing, pressure testing, and final certification. Ensure proper traceability of materials and manufacturing records. Support third-party inspections and certification audits.
Safety & HSE Enforce company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies. Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings. Ensure safe lifting operations using cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment. Promote safe work practices and ensure proper use of PPE. Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions. Refrigerated Container Operations Supervise installation and testing of refrigeration units. Coordinate electrical wiring, insulation, leak testing, refrigerant charging, and performance testing. Ensure refrigeration systems meet customer specifications and operational requirements.
Team Management Lead and motivate production operators, welders, fabricators, fitters, electricians, refrigeration technicians, painters, and helpers. Monitor attendance, discipline, and productivity. Identify training needs and develop workforce skills. Conduct performance evaluations and provide regular feedback. Coordination Liaise with Planning, Procurement, Stores, QA/QC, Maintenance, and Logistics departments. Coordinate with customers, inspectors, and certification agencies during inspections. Ensure smooth dispatch and delivery of finished containers. Documentation & Reporting Prepare daily production reports and manpower utilization reports. Record production output, delays, quality issues, and corrective actions. Maintain inspection records and manufacturing documentation. Participate in production review meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline. Additional certification in Welding, HSE, or Quality Management is an advantage. Experience 5–8 years of experience in heavy fabrication, steel structures, offshore equipment, container manufacturing, or pressure vessel fabrication. Minimum 2–3 years in a supervisory role. Experience with DNV 2.7-1 offshore containers, ISO containers, or refrigerated container manufacturing is preferred. Technical Skills Knowledge of DNV 2.7-1 offshore container manufacturing requirements. Familiarity with welding processes (MIG, FCAW, SMAW, TIG) and fabrication techniques. Understanding of welding procedure specifications (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQR), and welder qualifications. Knowledge of NDT methods, load testing, dimensional inspection, and QA/QC procedures. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and fabrication documents. Familiarity with refrigeration systems, electrical installation, and commissioning. Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.

Working Conditions Outdoor yard and manufacturing environment. Frequent interaction with cranes, forklifts, welding operations, and heavy fabrication activities. May require overtime and weekend work to meet project deadlines. Authority Assign daily work to production personnel. Stop unsafe work practices. Recommend corrective actions for quality and production issues. Approve routine production activities within assigned authority.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
