Trainer – Line Assembler – Telecom Products
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and qualified Trainer – Line Assembler – Telecom Products for our skill development training programs in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.
The trainer will be responsible for delivering theoretical and practical training in telecom product assembly, electronic component handling, production-line processes, soldering, testing, quality inspection, ESD safety, workplace safety, and basic manufacturing operations.
The training shall be delivered as per the prescribed curriculum, Qualification Pack/NOS, NSQF standards, and applicable skill development guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom and practical training for the Line Assembler – Telecom Products job role.
- Train candidates in assembly-line operations for telecom and electronic products.
Provide hands-on training in:
- Identification of electronic components
- Printed Circuit Board (PCB) handling
- Component insertion and mounting
- Wiring and cable assembly
- Connector fitting
- Screw fastening and mechanical assembly
- Soldering and de-soldering
- Product casing and final assembly
- Visual inspection
- Functional testing
- Basic fault identification
- Packaging and labeling
Train candidates in handling basic telecom and electronic assemblies such as routers, modems, communication devices, power units, accessories, and related products, as applicable.
- Demonstrate the correct use of hand tools, torque tools, soldering stations, multimeters, testing instruments, and production equipment.
- Train candidates on assembly sequence, standard operating procedures, production instructions, and work instructions.
- Explain basic manufacturing concepts such as takt time, cycle time, productivity, quality, rework, and rejection.
- Train candidates in ESD precautions and safe handling of electronic components.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety, PPE, housekeeping, and 5S practices.
- Train candidates in basic quality control and inspection procedures.
Explain identification of common assembly defects such as:
- Loose connections
- Wrong component placement
- Soldering defects
- Damaged connectors
- Improper fastening
- Cosmetic defects
- Functional failures
- Conduct practical exercises on component assembly, soldering, inspection, and testing.
- Ensure training delivery as per prescribed Qualification Pack (QP), National Occupational Standards (NOS), NSQF curriculum, and training hours.
- Prepare lesson plans, session plans, presentations, assignments, and practical exercises.
- Conduct regular assessments, mock tests, practical evaluations, and skill demonstrations.
- Maintain candidate attendance, practical records, assessment records, equipment registers, and other training documentation.
- Identify candidates requiring additional support and provide remedial training.
- Prepare candidates for final assessment and certification.
- Train candidates in workplace discipline, communication, teamwork, productivity, and employability skills.
- Coordinate with the Centre Manager, Training Coordinator, Assessors, and Project Team for smooth implementation of the training program.
- Support placement activities by preparing candidates for employment opportunities in telecom manufacturing, electronics assembly, EMS companies, production units, and related industries.
Qualification
Candidates should preferably possess one of the following qualifications:
- ITI in Electronics Mechanic
- ITI in Electrician
- ITI in Instrument Mechanic
- ITI in Wireman or related trade
- Diploma in Electronics & Communication Engineering
- Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics, ECE, EEE, Electrical, or related discipline
- Any other relevant technical qualification in Electronics, Telecom, or Manufacturing
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant industry and/or training experience in electronics assembly, telecom manufacturing, production-line operations, PCB assembly, or related areas.
- Candidates with experience in telecom equipment manufacturing, electronics manufacturing services, assembly units, or production plants will be preferred.
- Previous experience as a Telecom Trainer / Electronics Trainer / Assembly Trainer / Production Trainer will be an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of electronic and telecom product assembly.
- Good knowledge of electronic components and PCB handling.
- Practical knowledge of soldering and de-soldering.
- Familiarity with assembly-line tools and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of multimeters and testing instruments.
- Knowledge of ESD precautions and electronic component handling.
- Understanding of quality inspection and defect identification.
- Familiarity with 5S, workplace safety, and production discipline.
- Ability to read basic work instructions, assembly diagrams, and process sheets.
- Good practical demonstration and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to conduct classroom and workshop-based training sessions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts in a simple and practical manner.
- Basic computer knowledge including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate effectively in Telugu is essential; working knowledge of English and Hindi will be an added advantage.
