Job Overview:
Deerns India is seeking a highly experienced Lead Water Systems Expert to support the design and delivery of Electronics/semiconductor manufacturing facilities (OSAT/ATMP/FABS).
This role is focused on engineering design excellence, technical advisory, and independent design validation of ultra-high purity water (UPW), wastewater treatment, and sustainable water systems within a design consultancy / Owner’s Engineer framework.
The position requires working across multidisciplinary teams and international stakeholders, ensuring that water systems are designed to meet global semiconductor standards while being adapted to local regulatory and infrastructure conditions.
Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all water-related systems. Ensure robust, compliant, and high-performance design solutions. Bridge global best practices with local execution realities. Provide independent technical assurance throughout the project lifecycle
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, engineering, and execution of industrial water systems for semiconductor and high-tech facilities.
- Develop system concepts and detailed designs for Ultrapure Water (UPW), process water, wastewater, and ZLD systems.
- Prepare and review Design Basis Reports (DBR), PFDs, P&IDs, and hydraulic calculations.
- Ensure system performance aligned with reliability, operability, and sustainability targets.
- Integrate water systems with process tools, utilities, cleanroom, and facility infrastructure.
- Design and optimize water treatment, recycling, and reuse strategies.
- Conduct water balance analysis and system capacity planning.
- Review vendor submissions, technical specifications, and equipment selections.
- Support procurement, cost estimation, and bid evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, environmental norms, and global semiconductor standards.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, risk assessments, and value engineering.
- Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and system validation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and international stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and support project delivery across multiple assignments.

Skills & Competencies Required:
Bachelor’s / master’s degree in chemical, environmental, or water Engineering.- 15+ years of experience in industrial water systems design.
- 10+ years of Experience in semiconductor / high-purity / mission-critical facilities preferred.
- Strong expertise in UPW systems, wastewater treatment, ZLD, and sustainable water design.
- Knowledge of global and Indian design standards and environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and P&ID development platforms.
- Strong capability in design review, technical governance, and vendor coordination
- Excellent problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary and international project teams
