Role Background: Redbricks School is seeking a committed and collaborative Special Educator to support our growing inclusion initiative. This role involves working closely with students, teachers, counselors, and the Special Needs and Inclusion Team to ensure meaningful access to learning for students with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities:
The Special Educator will:
● Provide structured 1:1 and small-group interventions in the Learning Resource Room and sometimes in the classroom.
● Support students with autism, ADHD, and specific learning difficulties.
● Implement and monitor Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) and Student Support Plans. ● Develop targeted interventions in areas such as: ○ Literacy and numeracy
○ Executive functioning
○ Attention and organization
○ Study skills and self-regulation
● Collaborate with classroom teachers & shadow teachers to:
○ Adapt lesson materials
○ Suggest accommodations and modifications
○ Implement differentiated instruction strategies
● Support inclusive practices through in-class (push-in) support to learners.
● Work closely with the Special Education and Inclusion Lead to track progress and review plans.
● Coordinate with allied professionals, including Occupational Therapists, Behaviour Therapists, Speech and Communication Therapists, etc. to ensure effective strategy carryover.
● Maintain documentation, progress reports, and intervention records.
● Participate in parent meetings and review discussions as required.
Qualifications & Experience
● Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education.
● Minimum 3+ years of experience in school-based special education.
● Experience working with neurodiverse learners especially those with learning disabilities, Autism and ADHD. .
● Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and structured intervention strategies.
