- Knowledge of pharmaceutical process equipment manufacturing will be preferred.
Job Summary
The Production cum Project Engineer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and monitoring the manufacturing and project activities for pharmaceutical process equipment. The role requires close coordination with Design, Procurement, QA/QC, Stores, and Customer teams to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Production Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise fabrication, machining, welding, polishing, assembly, and testing activities.
- Ensure production schedules are achieved in line with project timelines.
- Monitor manpower utilization, machine productivity, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Coordinate with QA and QC teams to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Ensure implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety standards, and 5S practices on the shop floor.
- Minimize production delays by proactively resolving manufacturing issues.
- Optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity and reduce rework.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production progress reports.
- Ensure proper material traceability and maintenance of production records.
Project Responsibilities
- Prepare project execution plans and monitor project progress against schedules.
- Coordinate with Design, Purchase, Stores, Production, QA/QC, Automation, and Installation teams.
- Monitor project milestones, budgets, material availability, and resource allocation.
- Attend customer meetings and provide project progress updates.
- Coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), installation, commissioning, and final handover activities.
- Resolve technical and production-related issues during manufacturing and execution.
- Ensure timely dispatch and successful completion of projects.
- Support preparation of validation documentation including IQ, OQ, and project handover documents.
Documentation
- Maintain Bills of Materials (BOM), production records, project documentation, and inspection reports.
- Prepare material requirement plans (MRP), production schedules, project progress reports, and completion reports.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, GMP, ASME, and customer documentation requirements.
- Maintain project files, change records, and as-built documentation.
Coordination & Customer Support
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for timely execution of project activities.
- Support customer inspections, FAT, and technical discussions.
- Coordinate with service engineers during installation and commissioning activities.
- Ensure effective communication between internal departments and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of fabrication, machining, welding, polishing, and mechanical assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, P&IDs, and General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
- Knowledge of stainless steel (SS304 & SS316L) process equipment manufacturing.
- Good understanding of pharmaceutical process equipment manufacturing.
- Project planning, scheduling, and execution skills.
- Vendor and subcontractor coordination.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- ERP software experience will be an added advantage.

Experience in manufacturing and project execution of the following equipment will be preferred:

- Pharmaceutical machinery or process equipment manufacturing.
- GMP-compliant manufacturing environments.
- Installation and commissioning of pharmaceutical process equipment.
- Project execution, customer coordination, and FAT/SAT activities.
- Exposure to validation documentation (IQ/OQ) and clean process systems.
