Role Overview
The Principal will serve as the Academic and Administrative Head of Tapovan Vatsalyadham Residential School, and as ex-officio Secretary of the School Managing Committee. The role carries overall responsibility for administration, academics, staff leadership, and CBSE compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative & Governance
- Ensure strict compliance with CBSE Affiliation and Examination Bye-Laws
- Maintain school records, registers, and statutory documentation
- Oversee correspondence and timely submissions to CBSE/Government
Financial & Resource Management
- Oversee fee collection, salary disbursement, and purchases as per norms
- Ensure proper maintenance of school infrastructure and facilities
Academic & Pedagogical Leadership
- Plan the academic calendar and oversee timetable, admissions, and examinations
- Supervise classroom teaching and ensure subject-wise coordination
- Guide teachers on lesson planning (micro/macro), classroom management, and CBSE-aligned pedagogy
- Conduct regular staff meetings to review academic progress
Staff Supervision & Development
- Supervise and mentor teaching and non-teaching staff
- Monitor teacher performance and drive improvement as per CBSE standards
- Support teachers through the ongoing CBSE transition
Student Welfare & Compliance
- Ensure student discipline, safety, and welfare, including residential/hostel oversight
- Maintain CBSE Mandatory Disclosure and compliance documentation
- Communicate student progress to parents regularly
Eligibility and Qualifications:
- Master's degree with minimum 55% marks
- B.Ed or equivalent teaching qualification
- Minimum 10 years teaching/administrative experience, incl. 5+ years in senior leadership
- Strong command of CBSE curriculum, examination pattern, and affiliation compliance
Desired Skills & Personal Attributes:

- Experience managing a CBSE transition or residential school setup preferred
